Event Details

A two-hour seminar for job seekers presented by Marcia LaReau, president of Forward Motion (www.forward-motion.biz)

Part I: Job Application Essentials: Dr. LaReau will guide participants through an overview and checklist for preparing resumes and cover letters for both online and the mail-in application process. Methods of addressing specific audiences through the resume and cover letter will be addressed. Each attendee will receive handouts including a sample resume and cover letter and a checklist list of essential elements.

Part II: Interview Preparation: Dr. LaReau will addresses the entire interview process and essential preparation for managing phone screenings and in-person interviews. Each attendee will receive handouts that include a summary of speaking points and a checklist for interview preparation. Dr. LaReau addresses common concerns and demonstrates responses so participants know how to handle potentially awkward questions during an interview. Dr. LaReau’s process teaches the skills needed to complete a positive, memorable interview.

Part III: Networking: This activity is critical for those already established in their career and those who may be changing career direction. Dr. LaReau outlines the networking process, applies the steps learned in Part I of this workshop to debunk the discomfort this can result from this activity.
